StreamAware is operated by Junior Varsity Enterprises, LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

  • Account: your email, your name, and a securely hashed password.
  • Family profiles you create: a label, an age or birth year, an optional sex, genre preferences, favorite titles, and notes. You decide what to enter.
  • Your lists & preferences: titles you mark as owned or save to your wishlist, and the streaming services you select.
  • Basic technical data: standard server logs needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use it

To run the app: search titles, show where they're available, generate recommendations and parental guidance, and remember your lists and preferences. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

AI processing

To generate recommendations and parental guidance we send relevant details — such as ages, preferences, and a title's public metadata — to our AI provider (Anthropic). We do not send family members' names to the AI. AI output may be inaccurate; see our Legal & Disclaimers.

Third parties

We rely on TMDB (movie/TV metadata, images, and posters), JustWatch via TMDB (streaming availability), and Anthropic (AI). These providers process data only to deliver those features.

Children

StreamAware is intended for parents and guardians to manage a household's viewing. It is not directed to children, and children should not create accounts. Any family-member profile is information you enter about your household to personalize recommendations — you can edit or delete it at any time.

Your choices

You can edit or remove family members, lists, and preferences in the app at any time. You can permanently delete your entire account and all of your data from Settings → Account → Delete account. We keep your data until you delete it.

Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
